Blood Sugar Log

28 weeks pregnant/ Diabetic trying to fallow diet but always hungry?
i am diabetic and 28 weeks i had some high blood sugars last month so my doctor has me on glyburide(sp) and a 60 or less carbs a day diet i am messureing every thing i eat and keeping my sugars logged but i am feeling light headed and hungry all the time now any advice on what i can eat that will fit in my diet and fill me up
yesterday’s sugars fasting 92 , 2 hours after eating breakfast110 and 81 after lunch and 100 at bed time
todays sugars fasting 77 two hours after brekfast 86 before lunch 70 still waiting to take 2 hours after lunch
Your blood Sugar Levels are a little low. I get sick and dizzy when my sugars are 100 or below. Eat a mixture of ground flaxseed meal and chopped walnuts. Put some splenda on it, and very hot water to mosten it. top it with a pat of butter and a sprinkling of oatmeal, and some milk or half and half. This stuff fills you right up, and it tastes really good. You can add unsweetened cocoa powder to it to make it chocolate flavored it you want. Also you can add cinnamon to it, and it is awesome. You can eat as much of this as you want… as flax meal is all fiber. One gram of fiber cancels out one gram of carbs.
Also, get some low carb tortillas and spread with cream cheese. Sprinkle with splenda, and then sprinkle with Christal Light powder or sugar free jello powder. (Just a tiny bit of the flavor powders. I like Strawberry walmart brand chrystal light best for this!) Roll it up and chow down… it is a really good flavor and reminds you of a doughnut. LOL, that is important to me
Eat all the sugar free jello you want. Add a few strawberries or raspberries to it, and use cool whip on it! Cool whip is great for low carb. There is nothing to it.
For salty foods… roll ham and cream cheese, eat by itself or roll it in a low carb tortilla.
Melt mozzarella cheese and pepperoni on a plate and eat it with a fork, or with celery sticks. One of my personal favorites.
You do need to add a few carbs, or better yet, ask your doctor if you can decrease your glyburide. I have been able to completely control My Diabetes with no medications by just sticking to strict low carbing. I only eat about 30-40 grams per day. You will need more, being pregnant.
Remember you can eat anything that has no carbs as much as you want. Egg salad, Cheese, meats, sausages, mayo, sugar free jello, cole slaw when you make it yourself with splenda and mayo, salad. There are a lot of low carb things you can eat a lot of. that is the way you can survive it, and eventually, you start to love it!
Take care
